Story
Reigning champion and Mejor Defensa Topo Gómez remains Sunday Night's pure distributor: all 16 of his career points are assists. Eight helpers during Verde's Season 7 title campaign doubled his total, and he added two more setups in the championship final, including Fran Lara's winner, as separate postseason contributions. The Verde captain opened Season 8 with a 6–2 team victory and a regular-season ledger of 34 games, still chasing his first career goal while defending both a team title and a personal award.
