A highly-touted rookie who keeps making good on the hype: Germán Contreras followed up his debut goal by feeding the offense in Jornada 2, setting up Alfonso Sinencio late in the third in Verde's 3-3 deadlock with first-place Azul. The young forward now sits at three career points (1G, 2A) through two games, 51st all-time in scoring and 56th in goals, and riding a two-game point streak built on back-to-back helpers. That assist was part of a gutsy night for winless-but-plucky Verde, whose elite goaltending and perfect penalty kill — a 100% kill of all four Azul power plays — held Sunday Night's best team to a tie. With Adrián Contreras and fellow draftee Fran Lara, Germán is one of the youthful engines keeping Verde green dangerous.
