Recap

“

Five goals from Fermin Javier powered Blanco to their first Season 8 victory and brought another milestone into view. The reigning Campeón Goleador led a 6-4 win over Negro, raising his league-record regular-season goal total to 71 and his career points to 94, six short of 100. Four of his goals came in a first period that ended 5-0, including the eventual game-winner. Patricio Rincón added a goal and two assists to reach 20 career points.

Negro made that early deficit a contest. Rookie Chema Lara scored his first Sunday Night goal, Andrés Mata followed, and Cesar Sagaón struck short-handed just before the second intermission, assisted by Mata and Lucero González. That three-goal response cut the gap to 5-3. Mata finished with a goal and two assists, reaching 50 career points; Enrique Vizcarra also contributed a goal and an assist, while Lucero supplied two helpers.

Fermin's fifth restored a three-goal cushion early in the third; the delayed-penalty sequence did not count as a power-play goal. Alfonso Calderón assisted twice, and Emiliano Ampudia earned his first career point with a helper. Christian Hernández De la Rocha stopped 20 of 24 shots for Blanco, who generated 34 themselves; Juan Pablo Cazares made 28 saves. Blanco repeated last season's bronze-game scoreline and collected three standings points, while Negro's wider scoring cast gave their comeback real substance.
