The best story of Season 7 just wrote its best chapter. At 49, Joe Wlodarczyk — among the oldest players in Sunday Night, but a rookie who played college hockey back in the day — buried the tying goal with one second left in the third to rescue Blanco a 5-5 point against Negro, set up by Andrés Mata and Fermin Javier. He didn't stop there in the track meet, adding helpers on goals by Fermin Javier and Omar González for a three-point night that runs his career line to 3 points (1G, 2A) in two games on the Blanco blue line. The dream is alive at any age — and Blanco, leaky in net but co-leaders at 1-1-0, will take every bit of it.
