Story
René began his Sunday Night career with a victory, backstopping Verde's 6–2 Season 8 opening win over Blanco. The rookie goalie stopped 11 of 13 shots over 45 minutes, establishing an .846 save percentage and 2.00 GAA in his first recorded appearance. With four-time Mejor Portero Emmanuel Santiago skating at forward, René's debut gave the defending champions a winning start with a new name in their crease.
